Celebrate Independence Day in La Mirada

Celebrate a day of fun and fireworks with friends and family

La Mirada’s annual Independence Day celebration event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3 at La Mirada Regional Park.  Celebrate a day of fun and fireworks with friends and family.  Participants will be able to purchase food from a variety of food vendors during the afternoon and enjoy live music by The Country Club and Soul Kitchen.  The fireworks show will start at approximately 9 p.m.

La Mirada’s annual Independence Day celebration has been a community tradition for many years. In 1985, The Kiwanis Club of La Mirada organized and held an Independence Day celebration event at La Mirada High School’s Goodman Stadium. The event was held every year on July 4th until 1992 when it was moved to July 3rd; with the idea that it would allow the Kiwanis and City of La Mirada organizers to spend the 4th of July holiday with their families at home. The Kiwanis Club of La Mirada would continue to host the event for 18-years.

In 2004, the City of La Mirada began hosting the celebration and returned it to La Mirada Regional Park, its birthplace. The safe, family-fun regional event attracts up to 20,000 people annually.
