La Mirada Creek cuts through the middle of La Mirada as a flood control channel. There are two beautifully maintained city parks located on the northern stretch of the creek. The two parks are connected by a walking path and horse trail that passes through equestrian properties and a natural area.

Creek Park, the larger of the two parks, starts just west of Santa Gertrudes Avenue and covers 11 acres along La Mirada Creek. The eastern end of this creatively designed passive park features a fire ring and an amphitheater that accommodates up to 65 individuals. A horse arena is located to the west. Creek Park’s lush green grass, rolling topography, and beautiful trees combine to bring contentment to visitors. Easily accessible from the surrounding neighborhoods, Creek Park is the perfect setting for a peaceful morning jog or a family picnic. Each July, Creek Park is home to the popular “Stroll in the Park”. This event features food booths and musical entertainment.
