The Tony-nominated La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “one of the best Broadway-style houses in Southern California.” This beautiful state-of-the-art theatre has been presenting quality productions since 1977, co-producing several national tours. In addition to the mainstage McCoy Rigby Entertainment series of award-winning plays and musicals, La Mirada Theatre also produces the critically acclaimed ONSTAGE series, a wide range of special events, and a children’s series, Programs for Young Audiences. The theatre is also home to Phantom Projects Theatre for Teens and the La Mirada Symphony.
The recipient of Tony, Emmy, and Ovation Award nominations, La Mirada Theatre won the 2012-13 L.A. Broadway Series
La Mirada Theatre and McCoy Rigby Entertainment recently celebrated 25 years of presenting professional theatre performances for La Mirada residents and the surrounding Southern California region. Together they have garnered dozens of awards, winning top honors at the most prestigious award shows including the 2019 Joel Hirschhorn Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle.
Musical Concerts
The theatre hosts concerts each season from Grammy award winners like Tony Bennett to country legends like Travis Tritt and Lee Ann Womack. Tony Bennett performed at the theatre’s grand opening celebration in 1977 and returned to perform at the theatre’s 40th anniversary celebration in 2017. La Mirada Theatre also hosts tribute bands, traveling orchestras, sing-a- longs, and other musical artists throughout the year.

Young Audiences
Programs for Young Audiences was established to present the finest in live entertainment for children and their families. Each season, the theatre brings a diverse mix of national and international touring attractions specially geared for young audiences ages 5 and up. This is very often a child’s first exposure to a live performance and they go to great lengths to ensure that our shows provide a pleasurable and positive experience.
La Mirada Symphony
Known as the jewel of La Mirada, The La Mirada Symphony Orchestra provides free concerts throughout the year for residents who appreciated the cultural value of beautiful music in their lives and an opportunity for local musicians to share their talents. In pursuit of their mission to engage youth through music education, the symphony engages in active music participation of middle and high schoolers by connecting them with the Symphony. Website
Phantom Projects
By using theatre as a teaching tool, Phantom Projects Theatre Group has for over 20 years been bringing literary classics to the stage at the La Mirada Theatre, along with original plays tackling hard-hitting topics relevant to teens, parents, and teachers. The non-profit theatre troupe which aims to build theatre audiences of tomorrow through inspirational theatrical pieces has performed for over 700,000 teens through its combination of shows. Website
