Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center on August 3 through 4. Family campers will enjoy a fun night of camping activities under the stars at Buccaneer Bay. Bring a tent, sleeping bag, and camping gear for a memorable event. Campers will bring sleeping bags and set up their own tents in the picnic area and enjoy an unforgettable evening of swimming in Buccaneer Bay, dinner, and dessert. Memories will be made sitting around the campfire making s’mores and singing fun camp songs. In the morning, campers will wake up to enjoy a continental breakfast and go fishing at La Mirada Regional Park. “This is a great event for the whole family to enjoy a night of bonding and making memories,” says Community services Director Lori Thompson. “It will be an unforgettable night under the stars at Buccaneer Bay.” The family-fun “Buccaneer Bay” combines the excitement of a water park with pirate themed features throughout. Buccaneer Bay features a flowing river channel, three water slides, a children’s interactive play structure, zero-depth beach entry and two spray pad areas. Pirate themed elements include a marooned ship, a dramatic skull rock, shade canopies that resemble sails, cannon walls, wharf plank benches, and crow’s nests. With a Splash! birthday party, all members will have full access to Buccaneer Bay. They can spend the day in the lazy river, riding the slides or playing in the spray areas. A children’s play area is the perfect place for those under 48”. Birthday packages may include the use of a semi-private picnic area for two hours or the option of an all-day deluxe shaded picnic area.
