The La Mirada Library continues its tradition this week of featuring free blockbuster movies to community residents. Tuesday’s movie features Peter Rabbit in their Pajama Party Movie Night series for children. Wednesday’s movie features Crazy Rich Asians in their Film Screening series. So grab the family and some friends to enjoy an evening at the movies.
Pajama Party Movie Night – Peter Rabbit
Put on your favorite pair of pajamas because it’s time for another movie night at the La Mirada Library! Come to the library for the screening of the feature film adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s classic tale Peter Rabbit this Tuesday, January 29th from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Movie nights are generously sponsored by the Friends of the La Mirada Library.
Peter Rabbit and his three sisters — Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail — enjoy spending their days in Mr. McGregor’s vegetable garden. When one of McGregor’s relatives suddenly moves in, he’s less than thrilled to discover a family of rabbits in his new home. A battle of wills soon breaks out as the new owner hatches scheme after scheme to get rid of Peter — a resourceful rabbit who proves to be a worthy and wily opponent.
Released in February 2018, Peter Rabbit grossed $351 million at the box office. MPAA Rating: PG for some rude humor and action. Film is suitable for families with children 3-17 years old.
Film Screening – Crazy Rich Asians
The La Mirada Library invites you to a special screening of the hit romantic comedy-drama film Crazy Rich Asians this Wednesday, January 30th from 5:30 – 7:45 pm.
Rachel Chu is happy to accompany her longtime boyfriend, Nick, to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. She’s also surprised to learn that Nick’s family is extremely wealthy and he’s considered one of the country’s most eligible bachelors. Thrust into the spotlight, Rachel must now contend with jealous socialites, quirky relatives and something far, far worse — Nick’s disapproving mother.
Released in August 2018, Peter Rabbit grossed $238 million at the box office. MPAA Rating: PG-13 for some suggestive content and language. Film is suitable for teens and adults. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the film.
