La Mirada has two annual events coming up that you will want to gather your friends and family and support the community. They are a great way to give back locally and get to know others in the area.

A planning meeting/ice cream social has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th at 7:00 pm at Granada Heights Friends Church in Lindley Hall. The church is located at 11818 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada. Love La Mirada will be discussing potential projects, sponsorships and project leaders. Please come out and learn how to be part of the efforts to unite and love our great city. They would like you to RSVP to ensure we have enough ice cream.
Inspired by the Love Our Cities movement started in Modesto, California, Love La Mirada began with the support of a dozen local church leaders who met together to consider how they might challenge their congregations to partner with other organizations and residents of La Mirada for the good of our city. Others joined together to form a team to start up an official organization dedicated to helping people discover more about our city, serve together to improve our neighborhoods, and connect with other residents of La Mirada into a greater community.
La Mirada Relay for Life – May 18th & 19th
Community members are invited to join cancer survivors and those who have lost loved ones at the annual La Mirada Relay for Life. The 24-hour relay begins on Saturday, May 18 at 9 a.m. and concludes on Sunday, May 19 at 9 a.m., and will be held at Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center.
The sooner you get started, the more money you can raise. The more money you raise, the more incentive prizes you earn. So register early and get ready for a great fundraising season.
This event brings the community together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones, and raise money to help fight cancer. Funds raised help the American Cancer Society to provide groundbreaking cancer research, critical patient care services, education and prevention initiatives, and much more. Relay for Life is open to the public. Community members are not required to be part of a Relay for Life team to participate in this worthwhile event.
