A little over 60 years ago, a group of La Mirada residents gathered together and formed a local Rotary Club chapter as a way to serve the community. Are you interested in participating in community service opportunities? Are you looking for a way to connect with others in the community? The Rotary Club of La Mirada might be the right organization for you to join.
Rotary members include business and professional leaders from throughout the area. They benefit from relationships built over decades with the City of La Mirada, business leaders, the educational community, and other non-profit organizations and are dedicated to improving the quality of life for those in need in the community.
The Rotary Club of La Mirada is always looking for ways to serve. Some of these projects include the Eileen Wade Clothes for Kids shopping event, collecting food donations for Good Sam Pantry, and helping at annual city events like the Easter Egg Hunt, July 3rd fireworks show, and Memorial Day ceremony, as well as others throughout the year.
In partnership with the C.A. Van Dam Family Foundation, the Rotary Club offers high school graduating La Mirada students a chance to become recipients of the Florence and Cor Van Dam Memorial Scholarship. The scholarships vary in amount and are intended to provide financial assistance to students planning to attend a university, college, community college or trade school. This year’s scholarship applications are due on March 29th. Click here for more information.
Members regularly enjoy fellowship with one another and look forward to making new friends. Together, they have fun and work hard providing service to others in the La Mirada community.
If you are interested in getting involved with community service opportunities, interaction with business leaders, and great fellowship, join them for lunch every Wednesday at 12:30 PM at 12 Sixty Modern Pub & Kitchen in La Mirada right off the 5 Freeway.
