Partners extend their successful La Mirada Theatre relationship

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment are celebrating their 25th Silver Anniversary of producing and presenting professional theatre performances for La Mirada residents and surrounding Southern California region.

The La Mirada Theatre and McCoy Rigby Entertainment have garnered dozens of awards, winning top honors at the most prestigious award shows. McCoy Rigby Entertainment has also produced numerous national tours in which La Mirada Theatre has benefited both financially and through increased visibility. The partnership was recently honored with the prestigious 2019 Joel Hirschhorn Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre from the L.A. Drama Critics Circle. It produces five shows and one special event each season.

The La Mirada City Council recently approved another three-year agreement for the production and presentation of theatrical performances at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. The agreement has the ability to be extended for an additional two years. Each production is at least a twenty-one (21) performance run of each play or musical of professional theatre. Both are excited about continuing their successful partnership.

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment announced the theatre’s 42nd season of upcoming shows with something irresistible; something courageous; something grumpy; something killer; something good – in short, a “something for everyone” season!

They start off with the West Coast premiere of Hal Linden, Cathy Rigby and Ken Page starring in GRUMPY OLD MEN: THE MUSICAL; followed by the Broadway and London smash-hit, Roald Dahl’s MATILDA THE MUSICAL; then, a fresh spin on the hilarious, killer black comedy ARSENIC AND OLD LACE; next, they present one of the all-time great family musicals, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s masterpiece THE SOUND OF MUSIC and our season finale will find you “having the time of your life” and dancing in the aisles to ABBA and the irresistible MAMMA MIA!

This phenomenal season also includes the bonus options of the legendary Engelbert Humperdinck, country superstar TRAVIS TRITT, and the soulful sounds of THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS. The Tony-nominated La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “one of the best Broadway-style houses in Southern California.”  This beautiful state-of-the-art theatre has been presenting quality productions since 1977, co-producing several national tours.  The recipient of Tony, Emmy, and Ovation Award nominations, La Mirada Theatre won the 2012-13 L.A. Stage Alliance OVATION AWARD for “Best Season of the Year.” BT McNicholl is the Producing Artistic Director for the theatre.
