The La Mirada Library continues its tradition of providing free hit movies to local residents by offering classic and modern tales of adventure. Tuesday’s movie features the 1953 classic Peter Pan in their Pajama Party Movie Night series for children. Wednesday’s movie features Captain Marvel in their Teen Movie series. So grab the family and some friends to enjoy a day at the movies.
Pajama Party Movie Night – Peter Pan (1953)
Put on your favorite pair of pajamas because it’s time for another movie night at the La Mirada Library! Come to the library for the screening of the Disney classic film Peter Pan this Tuesday, June 25th from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Movie nights are generously sponsored by the Friends of the La Mirada Library.
In this Disney animated film, Wendy and her two brothers are amazed when a magical boy named Peter Pan flies into their bedroom, supposedly in pursuit of his rebellious shadow. He and his fairy friend, Tinkerbell, come from a far-off place called Neverland, where children stay perpetually young. Enchanted, the kids follow him back. But when Pan’s nemesis, the pirate Captain Hook, causes trouble, the kids begin to miss their old life.
Released in February 1953, Peter Pan grossed $88 million at the box office. MPAA Rating: G; General Audience. For families with children 3 – 17 years old.
Teen Movie – Captain Marvel
The La Mirada Library invites you to a special screening of the hit superhero film Captain Marvel this Wednesday, June 26th from 2:00 – 3:45 pm.
Captain Marvel is an extraterrestrial Kree warrior who finds herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between her people and the Skrulls. Living on Earth in 1995, she keeps having recurring memories of another life as U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers. With help from Nick Fury, Captain Marvel tries to uncover the secrets of her past while harnessing her special superpowers to end the war with the evil Skrulls.
Released in March 2019, Captain Marvel grossed $1.1 billion at the box office. MPAA Rated PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and brief suggestive language. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the film. This film is for teens and adults.
