How can you create a special father and son memory? The annual Father and Son Campout will be held at Neff Park this Friday, August 16 through Saturday, August 17. This annual event is a fantastic way for dads to spend some quality time with their sons outside their busy schedule.
Dads, uncles, grandfathers, sons, and nephews are invited to enjoy a fun night of bonding and taking part in camp activities under the stars. Campers will bring and set up their own tents. The event includes a campfire, S’mores, crafts, games, and an outdoor movie. Local Boy Scout Troop will provide assistance with setting up tents and teaching campers scouting techniques such as knot tying.
“Events like these are a fun way to build family and community relationships,” says Community Services Director Lori Thompson.
The cost is $30 for the campsite for up to four people. Campers can bring their own grills and food or purchase food for $12 per person, which includes dinner and breakfast.
Neff Park covers ten acres and includes three historic buildings, a gazebo, basketball court, tennis court, horseshoes pits, a playground, and picnic areas. The historic buildings include Neff Home, George House, and Neff Barn.
