La Mirada Park Spotlight – Anna J. Martin Park

Great neighborhood park offers a peaceful environment and fun for the kids

For those who want to simply relax and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, the City of La Mirada offers 220 acres of attractive parks. One can take a brisk walk amid beautiful scenery, read a book under a tree, enjoy a picnic, or celebrate a child’s birthday in a park.

One of these great parks is Anna J. Martin Park, which covers two acres and is a passive park with play equipment and a picnic area. This neighborhood park offers beauty and serenity for those seeking a peaceful environment. The playground equipment, upgraded not too long ago, has two sections: one side designed for little kids and one for big kids – the main slide is made of rollers like a warehouse conveyer belt. It also has a cool rock formation for one of the climbing access points to the main playground equipment. The park is located on the corner of Avenida San Martin and La Mancha Street on the east side of La Mirada.

In addition to the facilities found in the City’s parks, residents can also enjoy the expansive La Mirada Regional Park and the 18-hole La Mirada Golf Course, which are both owned and maintained by Los Angeles County.
