EDCO and the City of La Mirada are offering a free mulch, paper shredding, and e-waste collection event on Saturday, October 16th, from 9am to noon in the La Mirada Community Gymnasium parking lot, 15105 Alicante Road (please enter off of Alicante Road).
There will be certified shredding trucks during the event and all items will be shredded onsite! Limited to three bankers boxes (10”x12”x15”) per household of personal information and unwanted electronics.
Unwanted electronics will also be collected including TVs, computer monitors, printers, fax machines, VCRs, etc. However, no household hazardous waste (HHW) material will be accepted.
The mulch distribution will be a self-serve, self-loading service. Residents must bring their own cans/bags and shovel. A limit of three cans/bags per vehicle will be enforced. Participants are requested to bring a tarp to cover the material if bringing an open truck or trailer.
The event is for La Mirada residents only. Please bring proof of residency (i.e., CA Driver’s License or utility bill).
