The La Mirada community has plenty of ways to get in the spirit and enjoy the holiday festivities with friends, family, and neighbors. Whether sitting back and enjoying music at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts or experiencing the community tree lighting at the Chili Holiday Celebration, there are events to delight everyone.
Irving Berlin’s White Christmas the Musical – November 27-28
Ring in your holiday season with the perfect gift for everyone on your list! Start with a timeless tale of joy and goodwill. Fill it with classic Irving Berlin songs performed by Don Lemaster’s highly acclaimed Big Band Jazz Orchestra. Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley – December 2-5
Biola’s Theatre 21 presents Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. A sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice set two years after the novel ends, Miss Bennet continues the story, only this time with bookish middle-sister Mary as its unlikely heroine. Mary is growing tired of her role as a dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings’ romantic escapades. Biola University Annual Christmas Tree Lighting – December 3
Biola’s Alumni and Parent Relations invite you to the 2019 Biola University Christmas Tree Lighting on Wednesday, December 3rd. The tree lighting ceremony will be from 7 – 8 pm on the Metzger Lawn. This is a free event for the entire community with no registration required.
Chili Holiday Celebration – December 4
Celebrate the holiday season with family and friends at the annual Chili Holiday Celebration on Saturday, December 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center. The festivities include live entertainment, holiday crafts, warm beverages, cookies, and last, but not least, chili! Families can participate in snow sledding, take a photo with Santa, and enjoy a holiday train ride. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys to the event to support local families in need. For more information, call (562) 943-7277.
Biola Conservatory of Music Annual Christmas Concert – December 4

The Nutcracker Ballet – December 4-5
Join us this holiday season as the lights fade, the music swells, snowflakes fall, flowers waltz and a young girl dreams about a magical sweet-filled world in the charming and magical The Nutcracker Ballet. The Magic of Christmas – December 10-19
The Young Americans are back this holiday season, and they are bringing merriment, majesty, and music with them! Join us for The Magic of Christmas – the best holiday musical for the entire family! The Magic of Christmas features State of the Art 45-foot LED walls that take the audience from the polar ice caps of the North Pole to the jolly old streets of Dickensian London – from Toyland to the visions of sugarplums we all dream about – and so much more! Holiday Home Decorating Program – December 1-12
Decorate your homes and help spread holiday cheer this season! Judging for the Holiday Home Decorating program will begin Wednesday, December 1 through Sunday, December 12. One winner and one honorable mention will be selected in each neighborhood area. Winners will receive a certificate and a yard sign, and be announced on the City’s website. Winning homes will also be photographed and posted on the City’s social media outlets. No application is needed for a home to be considered for recognition. Holiday Toy and Food Drive – November 1 – December 13
Spread holiday cheer to those in need by donating to the City’s Holiday Toy and Food Drive. Donations are now being accepted through Monday, December 13 at various City facilities. Donations of new unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items will be collected and distributed to local organizations to assist families in need.
Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:
