City of La Mirada Stroll in the Park

Vendors, food and music at this popular community event

The City of La Mirada’s popular summer event, Stroll in the Park, returns Thursday, July 27 at Creek Park from 5 to 8:30. Night Market vendors will be on-site selling delicious food at 5 p.m.  The evening’s musical entertainment starts at 6:30 p.m. and will feature performances by New Orleans party music band Alligator Beach, 50’s and 60’s rock tribute band The Dreamboats, and 70’s through 2000’s rock and pop tribute group Southland Band.  Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

La Mirada Creek cuts through the middle of La Mirada as a flood control channel. There are two beautifully maintained city parks located on the northern stretch of the creek. The two parks are connected by a walking path and horse trail that passes through equestrian properties and a natural area.

Creek Park, the larger of the two parks, starts just west of Santa Gertrudes Avenue and covers 11 acres along La Mirada Creek. The eastern end of this creatively designed passive park features a fire ring and an amphitheater that accommodates up to 65 individuals. A horse arena is located to the west. Creek Park’s lush green grass, rolling topography, and beautiful trees combine to bring contentment to visitors. Easily accessible from the surrounding neighborhoods, Creek Park is the perfect setting for a peaceful morning jog or a family picnic.
