The City’s Spring Beautification program recognizes the efforts of homeowners for preserving the beauty of our community. Volunteer judges will visit neighborhoods through April 11. Judges will identify properties that demonstrate exceptional landscaping and exterior maintenance.
Tips to help prepare your home for Spring Beautification include:
- Store trash cans and waste items out of public view.
- Landscaping should include adequate ground coverage.
- Roofs should be in good condition.
- Remove holiday lights and other decorations.
- Vehicles should be operable and parked properly on paved surfaces.
- Repair chipped or peeling paint/plaster on structures.
Those who have recently remodeled or made major improvements to the front landscaping of their home may be eligible to be recognized as one of La Mirada’s Most Improved properties. Applications are being accepted through Friday, April 11 and are available at City Hall, Resource Center, and Activity Center. Applications must include a description of the work completed in the past year and “before” and “after” photos.
Owners of selected properties will be honored at an awards ceremony on Monday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. For more information on the Spring Beautification program, call (562) 943-7277 or visit cityoflmirada.com.
