There’s always something fun for families at the Autry! Experience movie magic as you saddle up and ride through the West. Create your own Western shows with props and costumes, pose for photos on a pretend horse, explore the museum through themed scavenger hunts, and wander through the outdoor garden. Thanks to Wells Fargo’s generous sponsorship with The Autry Museum, every second Tuesday of the month is free to any Autry visitors. During some public programs and free days, their Play! exhibition gallery may reach capacity. Once the gallery is full, entrance into the exhibition will be managed through timed admission. Discover the art, history, and cultures of the American West! Located in beautiful Griffith Park, the Autry features world-class galleries filled with Native American art and artifacts, film memorabilia, historic firearms, paintings, and more. Throughout the year, the Autry also presents a wide range of public events and programs—including lectures, film, theater, festivals, family activities, and music—and performs scholarship, research, and educational outreach. The Autry’s collection of more than 500,000 pieces of art and artifacts includes the Southwest Museum of the American Indian Collection, one of the largest and most significant collections of Native American materials in the United States. Gold panning may be canceled on certain days due to weather conditions such as rain or extreme heat. When Gold panning is closed, alternative family-friendly activities are available inside the museum. Gold panning will be closed from August 7–19 and on October 13–14, October 20, November 3–4, and November 10–11.
