The La Mirada Library invites you to attend this week’s free animated blockbuster movies for kids in the community. Tuesday’s movie features Raph Breaks the Internet in their Pajama Party Movie Night series for children. Wednesday’s movie features Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in their Film Screening series. So grab the family and some friends to enjoy movies at the library.
Pajama Party Movie Night – Ralph Breaks the Internet
Put on your favorite pair of pajamas because it’s time for another movie night at the La Mirada Library! Come to the library for the screening of the 3D computer-animated comedy hit Ralph Breaks the Internet this Tuesday, April 9th from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Movie nights are generously sponsored by the Friends of the La Mirada Library.
Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, “Sugar Rush.” In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet — the netizens — to help navigate their way, including an entrepreneur named Yesss, who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site BuzzzTube.
Released in November 2018, Ralph Breaks the Internet grossed $528 million at the box office. MPAA Rating: PG; Parental Guidance Suggested; for some action and rude humor. For families with children 3 – 17 years old.
Film Screening – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
The La Mirada Library invites you to a special screening of the hit superhero action film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse this Wednesday, April 10th from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. The winner of Academy Award – Best Animated Feature Film & Golden Globe – Best Motion Picture – Animated.
Miles Morales is a New York teen struggling with school, friends and, on top of that, being the new Spider-Man. When he comes across Peter Parker, the erstwhile savior of New York, in the multiverse, Miles must train to become the new protector of his city. Teen Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man of his reality, crossing his path with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.
Rotten Tomatoes says “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse matches bold storytelling with striking animation for a purely enjoyable adventure with heart, humor, and plenty of superhero action”.
Released in December 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse grossed $374 million at the box office. MPAA Rated PG for frenetic sequences of animated action violence, thematic elements, and mild language. This film is for teens in grades 6-12.
