Gather your family and friends and enjoy warm summer evenings filled with music, dancing, and delicious food! The Concerts Under the Stars and La Mirada’s Night Market continues another season at La Mirada Regional Park with Salsa Caliente this Thursday, June 20th. The second concert brings you authentic tropical and hard-hitting Salsa sounds.
Orquesta Salsa Caliente was founded by band leader and vocalist Alberto Gonzalez. With over 20 years of experience on the music and Salsa scene, Alberto has been able to put together an amazing group of musicians, musicians that now form part of Orquesta Salsa Caliente. Born and raised in the city of Chicago, Alberto was first introduced to the Salsa scene by his older brother (a professional Trumpet player) at the young age of 15. It was at his brother’s request that Alberto attended his first audition, he was hired on the spot and the rest is history as they say.
Influenced heavily by the music of his native Puerto Rico and by such artists as: Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, El Gran Combo, La Sonora Poncena, Bobby Valentin and others, little by little Alberto sharpened his vocal skills and learned his musical craft. Since his early days in Chicago, until now in Los Angeles, Alberto has had the opportunity to share his musical gift around the world in such places as Italy, England, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico and most recently in Bermuda and Africa with Orquesta Salsa Caliente.
The band has been featured on: Dancing With The Stars, at Dodgers Stadium & Petco Park for Major League Baseball, Vh1, and MTV, on a Diet-Coke commercial, also at Private Parties, Music Festivals, Various Concert Series, Weddings, Quinceaneras, on Film and more.
The Concerts Under the Stars season runs through August 8th. The 2019 musical lineup will include a variety of exciting entertainment that will keep your feet tapping and dancing to the beat. Music begins at 6:30 p.m.
Also, come early and enjoy the return of La Mirada’s Night Market, taking place at each weekly concert from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Grab some fresh produce or a bit to eat before the concert. Market vendors will be selling unique dishes, a variety of produce and crafts.
