La Mirada’s Community Gymnasium

Promoting physical fitness and healthy living to residents in the local community

The La Mirada Gymnasium was built to promote physical fitness, healthy living, and positive activities for youth and families in the local community. As a part of the Civic Center, the facility houses the City of La Mirada’s youth and adult sports programs as well as an array of fitness activities for older adults and families. Patrons of all ages can enjoy a variety of sports in a recreational environment, including basketball, indoor soccer (futsal), volleyball, flag football, and table tennis.

Access to the open gym hours requires that all patrons be members. There are specific hours for open gym set aside for Community Gymnasium Members. Open gym programs include adult basketball, adult volleyball, adult futsal (indoor soccer), and adult open table tennis. Hours may vary by season.

The gymnasium includes a fitness room, for adults 18 and over, for all of your cardio needs. Be sure to stop by to check out the various equipment including treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical machines, and stair climbers.

It also has a very popular open table tennis program. To participate in this program a day pass or membership must be purchased. While there is open play every day of the week, hours are subject to change due to special events and attendance.

Have some fun playing basketball with other seniors at the gym. Men and women of all skill levels are encouraged to participate. A discounted Senior Annual Gym Membership or a day pass must be purchased.

The City of La Mirada Community Services Department offers a variety of co-ed sports for youth ages 5-17 including football, basketball, futsal (indoor soccer), volley tennis, and volleyball. The City’s youth leagues are non-competitive programs designed for recreational play. Volunteer coaches teach the fundamentals of each sport, emphasizing teamwork, individual and group development, and sportsmanship; and best of all…everyone plays! Seasons consist of 10 practices and 8 games. Each player receives a shirt and a medal.

Volunteer coaches are the backbone of youth sports in the City of La Mirada. Without the committed hard work by our volunteer coaches, local youth would not have the quality one-of-a-kind sports programs you see in La Mirada. Continue to help make a difference in your community by signing up to be a volunteer youth league coach. If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a volunteer coach, please visit the or call the Community Services Department at (562) 943-7277.

The Community Gymnasium is located at 15105 Alicante Road. For additional information about gymnasium programs, please call (562) 902-2938.
