The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) named the City of La Mirada as a finalist for its 2024 Most Business-Friendly City award. La Mirada is a finalist among cities with a population of less than 50,000.
“It is an honor to be a finalist for this prestigious award,” says La Mirada Mayor John Lewis. “Being named a finalist shows our ongoing commitment to creating an exceptional business community in La Mirada.”
The Business-Friendly City award honors cities that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to creating an environment where businesses can thrive. This recognition reflects La Mirada’s dedication to economic development and supporting the local business community.
La Mirada provides a business-friendly climate by keeping fees and taxes low, has never levied a municipal property tax or utility tax, and provides excellent customer service with the business community to identify and respond to their needs.
“La Mirada’s ‘Dedicated to Service’ philosophy is at the center of our efforts to support local businesses,” says Economic Development Manager Alison Moore. “We are committed to providing a safe and positive environment where local business can thrive.”
La Mirada offers several programs and services to help local businesses including a Business Recognition Program, quarterly business newsletter, business development and resources guide, and much more.
The winner of the LAEDC Most Business-Friendly City award will be announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles on November 6. Other nominated cities in the under 50,000 population category are El Segundo, Glendora, Monterey Park, and San Fernando. La Mirada previously won this award in 2013 and 2019.
