From even before the city was founded in 1960, residents were gathering together to form civic organizations. Many of them are still around today building friendships and serving the needs of the La Mirada community. Whether it is one of the many civic organizations or church congraga- tions, people in La Mirada care about the community and want to give back. Volunteerism is stronger than ever, so don’t hesitate to jump right in and join. These groups are a great way to meet your neighbors and improve the quality of life for the community and all its residents.
