La Mirada High School
The administration, teachers and staff of La Mirada High School are thrilled to partner with the parents and La Mirada community in the education and guidance of our students. For years, La Mirada High School has been a neighborhood center for academics, athletics, activities and community service projects. We firmly believe in teaching skills that will carry our students through college, into a successful career, and encourage them to be active, ethical, contributing members of our community.
La Mirada High School has something for all students. We promote a college-going culture through our AVID, Matador Scholar Academy and Advanced Placement program. Students are also given the opportunity to explore career options through our ACE (Business) academy, Engineering academy, APPLE (Education) academy and SKILLSUSA program. If your student enjoys performing, then the VAPA academy is for them. The VAPA program includes art, ceramics, drama, choir, orchestra, and dance.
The LMHS Matadores compete in the competitive Suburban League, and we offer a full selection of athletic teams. Both boys’ and girls’ programs have been very successful, winning numerous league championships and successfully competing in CIF playoffs. However, athletics is not the only extra-curricular option for our students. The ASB program is alive and thriving. Each year our number of ASB clubs increase. This growth is due to student interest and staff expertise.
