La Mirada Remembers Their Sacrifice

The La Mirada Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9148, and it’s auxiliary hosted a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 27th at Olive Lawn Memorial Park. Highlights of the program included Gold Star and Blue Star Families recognition, a Memorial Day address given by United States Army combat veteran Pastor Robert Racoma, and a vocalist solo by Lisa Leduc.

Boys and Girls of La Mirada Scout Troops and Cub Packs participated in the flag raising, the pledge of allegiance, and placed flags at the veterans graves.

Community organizations marked the occasion by placing memorial wreaths in observance of local residents who sacrificed their lives for our country. These organizations included the City of La Mirada, La Mirada Ebell Club, Kiwanis Club of La Mirada, Rotary of La Mirada, Olive Lawn Memorial Park, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Auxiliary.
