Fall Events this October in La Mirada

Grab some popcorn, your boots, or a costume and celebrate with family and friends

The City of La Mirada invites you to attend three fall events coming up during the month of October.  There is fun for all ages from a western-themed Fall Festival to spooky Halloween events. Whether you grab some popcorn, your boots, or a costume, take some time to have fun with your family, friends, and neighbors at one or both of these community events.

Movies in the Park
The City invites family and friends to Movies in the Park Saturday, October 22nd at Windermere Park, located 15261 Cheshire Street. The spooky movie of the night will be The Addams Family.

This is a free event and there will be Halloween activities and crafts for kids beginning at 5 pm. The movie begins at dusk. Attendees are reminded to bring their lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks. Halloween costumes are highly encouraged. For additional information, call the Resource Center at (562) 943-7277.

Saddle Up and Ride on Over to the Fall Festival
Grab your cowboy boots and get ready for the annual Fall Festival! The festival will be held at the Activity Center on Thursday, October 13th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The celebration includes line dancing, games, a pumpkin decorating craft, lunch, and dessert.

This event is free to attend, and a donation of $2.75 is recommended for lunch provided by Café on the Green. To make a lunch reservation, call (562) 947-8787 by Friday, October 7th.

Spooky Fun Returns to the Historical Neff Estate
La Mirada’s annual Halloweenfest will be held on Monday, October 31st from 4:30 to 8 pm at the historic Neff Estate. Over 2,000 people have attended this event in past seasons. This event is great for all ages, including pets! Enjoy a haunted maze, costume contests, carnival-style games, crafts, a trick-or-treat area, and more!

Costume contest schedule:
Pets – 4:45 pm
2 and under – 5 pm
3 to 5 – 5:30 pm
6 to 8 – 6 pm
9 to 12 – 6:30 pm
13 and up/Groups – 7 pm

The Neff Home, Carriage Barn, and George House are the only remaining buildings of Windermere Ranch, which supported a thriving olive and citrus industry. The Neff Estate is located at 14300 San Cristobal Drive.
